Veterinarians & Fetch: we support you + the pets you help
Fetch works hand-in-hand with veterinarians, like you, to protect over 425,000 pets (and counting!). Explore how our comprehensive coverage can help vets give more dogs and cats the care they need and how we’re working to make sure the veterinary community is taken care of, too.

Advocating for the veterinary community
At Fetch, we work directly with the professionals and experts that lead the pet health industry. In 2023, we made it official with the Fetch Veterinary Advisory Board, a 7-member team of nationally recognized veterinary leaders who help guide us on products, policies, tools and content. The VAB also advocates for the community of veterinarians who treat our pets by recognizing trends and hardships like student loan debt, burnout and diversity and inclusion. Plus, we support the incredible work they do, including helping the pets of people experiencing homelessness.

Fetch is helping pets in need get veterinary care
More than 58,000 dogs and cats in the U.S. have pet parents experiencing homelessness. While these pets are loved more than anything, they don’t have access to the veterinary care they need. Fetch has helped Project Street Vet expand from a one-man mission to 9 teams across the U.S., giving dogs and cats routine exams, lifesaving surgeries and so much more. Watch the video below to see this transformative work in action and learn how you can get involved with Project Street Vet.

Fetch helps veterinarians help more pets
As a trusted vet, you’re on a mission to provide the best possible care. When pet parents can’t afford the treatment you recommend, it puts a painful burden on everyone. That’s where pet insurance comes in. It can help pet parents cover the cost of vet bills, which means happier pets and happier vets.
Positive effects of pet insurance include:
Better overall medical and preventive care for pets
Less financial stress for pet parents when it comes to vet bills
Pet parents are more compliant in follow-up care
Stronger relationships between vets and pet parents
Pets are more likely to receive treatment their pet parents might not be able to afford otherwise
If veterinarians recommend it, Fetch likely covers it
Our dedication to helping pets live their best lives means helping pet parents afford the best care possible. We stand out in the industry by offering the most comprehensive pet insurance in Canada and the U.S. That includes coverage for the accidents and illnesses pet parents don’t see coming as well as wellness coverage that helps them save on vet bills for routine and preventive care. Plus, Fetch lets veterinarians file insurance claims when they treat their own pets. Together, let's help more pets get the care you recommend — without creating financial hardship for pet parents.

Your questions – answered!
How do I submit a claim for my clients?
The fastest way to submit a claim is if pet parents do it themselves by uploading it directly into our system – either through the Fetch Pet Insurance app, or their online account. If submitting a claim for your client is the only option, send an itemized invoice showing proof of payment and detailed medical records (including exam notes and lab results within 90 days of the treatment date) to [email protected].
Why does Fetch need medical records, and what do they entail?
Medical records – specifically SOAP notes and test results – allow Fetch to determine what we can cover, which allows us to process claims quickly. Medical records should include the date of the vet visit being claimed, as well as your pet patient’s past medical history, beginning one year prior to the start date of their insurance policy.
How do I check the status of my client’s claim?
As your client’s vet, the Fetch customer service team can explain basic policy information to you. Because of privacy laws, however, they’re unable to discuss claim details with anyone other than the pet parent with a Fetch Pet Insurance policy enrolled under their name. We encourage your client to check the status of their claim through the Fetch Pet Insurance app (which can be downloaded via the App Store or Google Play).
What does Fetch consider a pre-existing condition?
Fetch doesn’t cover pre-existing conditions. This is any condition that your pet shows signs of, or occurs before you enroll or during the waiting period of up to 15 days. The good news is that Fetch covers curable pre-existing conditions. Here’s how it works: If a pet has an injury or illness and then goes 12 months without signs, symptoms or treatment, that injury or illness is considered curable and is eligible for coverage.
