Charleston Animal Society’s Frisky a GoGo Gala

Bust out your go-go boots for a good cause

On October 16, 2021, Charleston Animal Society is hosting its 2nd annual Applause For Paws Frisky a GoGo Gala at the Charleston Gaillard Center. Bring out your glitzy go-go attire or finest black-tie outfit and support all of the lifesaving work the rescue organization continues to do. “It's one of our biggest fundraisers of the year. Our hope is to raise at least half a million dollars,” Erin Nosker, manager of business partnerships at Charleston Animal Society, said.

The organization hopes to raise those donations through ticket sales, live and silent auctions and the “Fund a Need” portion of the event.

Funding Charleston Animal Society’s mission isn't the only goal of the event — the organization wants to inform the community of their initiatives, too. “The event really helps Charleston Animal Society bring awareness to our programs and services,” Erin said. “We have a lot of different programs that people aren't aware of like our Humane Education program or our Pets for Life program.” The Humane Education program includes after-school programs and summer camps for younger pet lovers, while the Pets For Life program provides necessary, free help for animals to underserved communities.

Lastly, the night allows Charleston Animal Society to thank donors that continually contribute to all of the organization’s operations, all while getting the community involved. “We can't operate at the capacity that we do without our donors, so it's also a thank you,” Erin said.
