Why shelters love working with Fetch

We put our money where our heart is

Our commitment to pets goes beyond insurance. Fetch has donated millions of dollars to our network of shelter partners across Canada and the U.S. Shelter partners then choose how they use Fetch funding, so it fits their needs, including for medical care, behavioral support and adoption initiatives —  helping both pets and shelters thrive.

Fetch has donated over $5.8 million to support shelters and rescue pets

Our agents bring a proven track record of success —without disruption or costs

Our unique model allows shelters to integrate an onsite trained Fetch representative seamlessly into the adoption process. When working with some of our other pet shelter partners, our agents have helped up to 70% of adopted pets go home with insurance. Adoptive pet parents are able to have peace of mind knowing that their pet can receive the best vet care possible, reducing the possibility of surrender due to medical costs.

Why shelters love working with Fetch

We help keep pets in their forever homes

We know that shelter pets can come with all sorts of unknowns. That’s why we’re one of the few providers that covers curable pre-existing conditions. Plus, we cover vet consultations to diagnose and treat behavioral disorders up to $1,000 a year. With support like that, it’s no surprise that our existing partners send home up to 70% of their adopted pets with the most comprehensive insurance.

By helping keep pets with their new families, shelters can focus on finding homes for more rescues.

Alison Cross, Senior Director, Marketing and Communications at Ontario SPCA & Humane Society

We take a holistic approach to caring for an animal and pet insurance is part of that. We advocate for emergency preparedness and we advocate for being a responsible animal caregiver. Fetch has that same approach.

Fetch understands shelter pets, and how our coverage fits their needs

No upper age limit

Older shelter pets are often adopted last, but no pet is too old for Fetch. We cover dogs and cats 6 weeks and older.

Hereditary and congenital condition coverage

Shelter pets can have unknown hereditary or congenital conditions. That's why Fetch covers hereditary conditions linked to breed.

Comprehensive dental and periodontal disease coverage

Shelter pets may need dental care. Fetch covers injury and illness in every adult tooth — not just the canines.

No breed exclusions

Fetch doesn’t exclude any breed. That means all breeds are covered for hereditary and congenital conditions.

Covering pets for life

Fetch protects pets after adoption. This includes coverage for unexpected diagnostic tests for new injuries or illnesses.

Fast coverage start

Some rescue pets experience accidents or illnesses due to stress soon after adoption. For some shelter partners, Fetch has no waiting period if pets are enrolled within 24 hours of adoption.

Fetch is proud to partner with Project Street Vet
