“I worry about gum disease. My toothbrush is an old stick.”
One simple pet insurance plan for puppies, dogs, kittens & cats.
Life with pets is full of surprises — including the occasional injured paw or stomach ache. With Fetch, you’re prepared. Whatever treatment your best friend needs, you have the best pet insurance to help cover the cost.
Fetch is unable to cover pre-existing conditions, so we recommend signing up when your pet is a puppy or kitten. That way you’re covered if they should ever get sick or hurt. And if you’ve adopted an older pal, now’s the time to decide if pet insurance is right for you. The sooner you get Fetch, the sooner we can help.

Customize your pet insurance price to fit your budget.
Fetch determines the most accurate price (aka your premium) for your pet insurance plan based on your pet’s breed, age and where you live. After that, you can customize three factors — your deductible, annual coverage amount and reimbursement rate — in order to pay less or get paid back more.
Your deductible is the amount of vet care you need to pay for yourself before we can reimburse you for approved claims. Choosing a higher deductible will make your price lower.
Your annual coverage amount is the maximum dollar amount you can be paid back each year. Choosing a lower annual coverage amount will make your price lower.
Your reimbursement rate is the percentage of an approved claim total that we can cover. You can choose 70%, 80% or 90%. Choosing a lower reimbursement rate will make your price lower.

The average price for a pet insurance plan varies across Canada. That’s because the cost of veterinary care varies, too. Check out the average price in your province. And remember, Fetch works with any vet in Canada (and the U.S.) so your pet is covered at home and when they join you on your travels.

More questions about pet insurance? We have answers.
What does pet insurance cover?
Pet insurance helps you cover the cost of unexpected veterinary bills when your pal gets sick or hurt. Fetch provides the most comprehensive pet insurance coverage available, and pays back up to 90% of the cost of care. We even cover sick-visit exams fees, breed-specific issues and your pet’s teeth and gums.
What doesn’t pet insurance cover?
Pet insurance covers future injuries and illnesses. Any health issue your vet noted before you signed up for insurance, during the waiting period or prior to the first exam, is considered a pre-existing condition and cannot be covered. Fetch is also unable to cover routine care, prescription food and grooming and cosmetic procedures.
When should I get pet insurance?
The key to ensuring your pet has the best injury and illness coverage possible is to enroll before they need it. We recommend signing up your kitten or puppy so that future illnesses or injuries can be covered. Fetch covers pets of any age, so it’s also important to sign up an older pet before they develop any health issues.
How do I pick the best plan?
Fetch offers the most comprehensive coverage in our one simple plan. There are a few factors you can customize to make sure your price fits your budget: your deductible, annual coverage amount and reimbursement rate. See how to customize your price to find the value that is right for you.
How much does pet insurance cost?
A Fetch pet insurance plan averages $50/month for dogs and $30/month for cats — and even less for puppies and kittens. How do we do it? The research and data we gather gives you the most accurate and personalized pricing based on your pet’s breed, age and location.
Average monthly premiums are based on Canadian annual premiums, using a 12-month average, for the period of 01/01/2022 through 12/31/2022 and all available limit combinations.
Does Fetch have any pet insurance offers or discounts?
Once you sign up with Fetch, you can save on your payment plan by choosing quarterly or annual billing. And you can earn up to 15% off for keeping your pet healthy in the first year of enrollment with the Healthy Pet Credit.
Does Fetch only cover dogs and cats?
Yes, Fetch only provides pet insurance coverage for dogs, puppies, cats and kittens. We do not cover birds, bunnies, lizards and other exotic pets.
Is pet insurance right for me?
If you’re looking for help with future vet bills for new illnesses or injuries, the answer is yes. But if you’re at the vet with a sick or injured pet right now, it might not be worth it — at least for the issue your pet currently has. It would be considered a pre-existing condition and we would be unable to cover it.
