Jacksonville Humane Society’s Tides and Tails event

Name a better combination than pets and beachside cocktails, we’ll wait

Jacksonville Humane Society’s (JHS) first-ever Tides and Tails happy hour has all of the components of a pet lover’s dream social gathering: animals, food and entertainment. “This is a new, fun way to support the Jacksonville Humane Society and also showcase how much you love your pet,” Theresa Scordo, director of development at JHS, said.

On October 8, 2021 (starting at 6:00 PM ET), around 125 guests will mingle, enjoy food and drinks (pupcakes will be provided for dogs) and browse small auction items, all while enjoying beach views at One Ocean Hotel. Attendees can purchase pet tickets (the event’s outdoor patio space hosts up to 50 cats and dogs) that come with “wag bags” full of treats, toys, fancy collars and bow ties.

All of the event proceeds will go towards JHS’s Pet Help Center, a place where pet parents can get help for just about anything from emergency boarding to free pet food to pet deposits for apartments. “We're meeting with pet parents, counseling them and offering ways that they can keep their pet,” Theresa said. “Anything that you need to prevent having to surrender your pet to the shelter.”

Mark your calendars for an evening full of animals, celebration and giving back. For more information about our shelter partner, read our article.
