What doesn’t kitten insurance cover?

Fetch kitten insurance provides coverage for future accidents and illnesses — the stuff you can’t see coming. We don’t cover pre-existing conditions. No one does. We also don’t cover cosmetic or elective procedures. Routine and preventive care, which cover things like spaying and neutering, teeth cleaning, flea and tick protection and vaccines, aren’t covered either.

When should I get kitten insurance?

The sooner you get Fetch, the sooner we can help. If you have a kitten, you shouldn’t wait to sign up. And the same goes if you’ve adopted an older cat, too — it’s likely an older pet will develop a new illness or injury as they continue to age. But, if you wait until your kitten gets sick or hurt, we won’t be able to cover your vet visit.

How does kitten insurance work?

Your coverage kicks in after your waiting period (which could be up to 15 days), so you'll be ready when life throws you curveballs. Here's how Fetch's reimbursement model works:

Use any veterinarian in Canada or the U.S.

With Fetch, you have the flexibility to keep your current vet or visit a new vet if you’d like. We even cover specialists and emergency clinics.

Submit a claim in minutes

Just take a picture of your vet documents, answer a few questions about your pet’s treatment and we’ll handle it from there.

Get paid back fast

Once your claim is approved, you’ll be paid back up to 90% of your unexpected vet bill in as little as 2 days via direct deposit.

How much does kitten insurance cost?

Our plans average $25/month for cats and even lower prices for kittens. How do we do it? With our patent-pending Fetch Forward™ technology — it determines the fairest and most accurate pricing based on your pet’s breed, age and your location. From there, you’ve got options. Here are the levers you can pull to either pay less or get paid back more.

Maximum annual benefit

The maximum dollar amount you can be paid back per policy year. The higher your max annual payout, the more you’ll pay per month.

Annual deductible

The fixed dollar amount you're responsible for paying before your insurance kicks in. Higher deductible plans have lower monthly premiums.

The percentage of each covered vet bill you’ll be paid back after you meet your deductible. The higher your reimbursement, the more you’ll pay per month.
